After graduating in Design (Visual Communication) from the University of Ulster in 1994, Nigel commenced employment with Omagh Enterprise Company as a business researcher. Having worked successfully as a freelance designer for some of the provinces largest design agencies, in May 2000 he became one of the founding staff members at Creative Media. As an award-winning designer Nigel has all the qualities you could ever look for in a Creative Director. He’s a dynamic and resourceful professional who is incredibly passionate about what he does.

His drive and level-headedness have won him not only the respect and admiration of his team but also the many prominent clients he has had the pleasure of working with. Nigel also has a long interest and vast experience in photography and is Creative Media’s in-house photographer.

Although Nigel admits to be being easy-going at heart he’s strongly committed to ensuring that Creative Media’s enviable track-record remains unbroken. Certainly his UK DBA Gold Award (a first for a Northern Irish Business), five all-Ireland Design Effectiveness awards, and work featuring in worldwide design publications and websites such as Design Week, Popsop and Ilovelogos are evidence of his indubitable artistic flair and his ability to consistently add real brand value - much to the delight of his clients.

Nigel’s recent successes include a Gold Design Business Association UK (DBA) Award for packaging design, five Irish Design Awards, for design effectiveness, for his work in Public Service/Non-profit literature and Consumer Literature in 2007 and a further Award in 2008, again in Consumer Literature, plus 2 awards in 2011, for Consumer Branding and Packaging Design, as well as recently having several pieces selected for inclusion in “The Best of Letterhead and Logo Design Volume 12”, a showcase of the best design work worldwide from the past year. In late 2011 Nigel’s newspaper design skills were also honoured with a Silver CIPR Pride Award. Nigel has recently been nominated for a German Design Award 2014.

Most striking about this national and international award success is the breadth of disciplines involved – literature, packaging, newspaper, branding etc – which illustrates Nigel’s adaptability.

Nigel is a member of South West College’s lecturing panel, guest lecturing degree students in advertising, business & graphic design, and has in the past carried out design consultancy work for public funding body Livewire Northern Ireland
