In 1995 Marcelo Lopes, Head Designer of Merchan-design, founded the design agency focusing on the premium and luxury market. A multifaceted designer with projects from graphic design, interior design, furniture and jewelry. As acting Project Director of ADP -. Association of Product Designers of Brazil, Lopes is the recipient of national and international design awards including the IF Design, A'design Awards, Creativity Awards, London International Advertising Awards, Idea Brasil, Columnist Award, Premio ABP - Brazilian Advertising Association. With over 40 award-winning projects, in 2012 Merchan-Design was named the design agency of the year by the ABP- Brazilian Advertising Association. In 2013 Lopes was selected to be the president of the jury in the Design category of the Brazilian Advertising Festival after having acted as jury member in numerous national and international design competitions. Marcelo is co-founder of CBrD- Coletivo Brasil Design. This collective brings together seven national framework of design associations contributing to the promotion of national design.
