Cliff Shin is an award winning designer and Assistant Professor of Industrial Design in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. Also, He is director of industrial design at the product manufactory in Urbana. He received a B.S. in manufacturing engineering technology from Arizona State University and M.A. in industrial design from Purdue University. He worked for LG headquarter Design Center at Seoul as a senior designer with expertise in consumer electronics and consumer behavior and among products he has designed are LCD monitors, vacuum cleaners, washers and dryers. His main research area is emotional design based on decision making, neuroscience, and consumer behavior. He has recently received 2014 Industrial Design Society of America(IDSA) Young Educator Award . Also He served as a judge for International Housewares Student design competition and 23rd Appliance Design Annual Excellence in Design and he actively engages in consulting for designing in consumer electronics.
