Botanic metaphors are still vibrantly expressed throughout the room, replacing the bustle noise coming from the streets, and here becomes a secret garden. Island Hair Salon by Jacksam Yang Island is a hair salon set inside a forty-year-old house of 165 square meters. The renovation avoids elaborate decoration. Recycled decorative logs replace interior walls and act as divider screens, creating a see-through effect, a brighter room and a simple, clear flow. Abundant green foliage and climbing plants fill the space. A gravity-powered watering system based on siphon theory replaces mechanical irrigation, filling eleven tanks evenly and adding the sound of dripping water. The design brings natural elements into an urban setting. Ethereal Hair Salon by Jacksam Yang Ethereal is a hair salon interior located in Taipei. The space covers 133 square meters. Wood is used as the main material, and its solid character is combined with surrounding textures. From a distance the interior looks like an installation artwork, while closer viewing reveals detailed craft work. Woodcraft elements and textures are rearranged to move away from the traditional image of a commercial hair salon. Curved and linear forms, ink-like gradations and natural scents create a calm atmosphere. The design is intended as an urban retreat where visitors can relax. Elegance Restaurant by Jacksam Yang Elegance is a restaurant interior located in Taipei. The 152 square meter dining space follows the arc-shaped form of the building, and floor-to-ceiling windows open the room to the city view. Vertical decorative panels with milled curved lines gain strength from the curved structure, so heavy decoration is avoided. Dim lighting and small dot lights mark the length and the height of the room. Wooden textures, gold frames and grey mirrors add warmth and widen the view. The intent is a calm and refreshing place for guests. Ripples Material Room by Jacksam Yang Ripples is a materials showroom in Taichung City, Taiwan, covering 60.5 square meters. A former office space was converted into an open showroom that also serves as a shared workspace for customer meetings. Two convex shapes on the ceiling form the starting point of the design. Systematic wood decor of 8 millimeters is thinly cut and bent to create curves and fold lines that extend across the ceiling and the walls. A total of 200 products are displayed, so visitors can see and touch real textures. The modular materials can be copied and assembled in other cities. An open staircase of metal and marble creates a see-through effect and forms the focal point at the entrance. The enlarged starter step marks the center of the space. A wooden partition extends the visual height and provides privacy. The entryway is compressed in scale and then expanded at the high ceiling area. Linear lighting guides movement, and large windows bring natural light to each floor. Peace of Mind Office by Jacksam Yang Peace of Mind is an office interior located on the second floor of a building in Taichung, Taiwan. The working space covers 300 square meters. Gentle wooden tones form the base color, and the textures of the materials add an elegant character. Clear glass and wooden partitions replace solid walls, so daylight reaches the interior. Large floor-to-ceiling windows face a park, and pine trees grow at the sides, bringing the surrounding greenery into the design. The intent is a calm and distraction-free place to work. |
