Artist Ray Teng Pai established the studio Singular Concept in 2014, and has since received a number of top international awards, including the IF Award, Golden Pin Design Award Best Design, and A' Design Award Golden Award for the Installation Art in 2019.

Besides his studio projects, Ray has been giving lectures and teaching as an assistant professor at Tainan University of Technology since 2015, leading student teams to attend exhibitions and work closely with industry.

As someone who loves to inspire others and to be inspired, Ray Teng Pai’s work tells stories. Ray strives to explore the boundaries of design and art, how abstract elements can influence the human mind, and how relationships are built between humans, objects, and the environment.

25 Nano Ambient Light by Ray Teng Pai 25 Nano is an artistic light instrument to represent ephemeral and permanence, birth and death. Working with Spring Pool Glass Industrial CO., LTD, whose vision is building a systematic glass recycle loop for a sustainable future, 25 Nano chose the relatively fragile bubble as a medium in contrast with solid glass to embody the idea. In the instrument, light shimmers through life cycles of the bubble, projecting rainbow-like color and shadows to the environment, creating a dreamy atmosphere around the user.

Linear Refraction Floor and Ambiance Light by Ray Teng Pai Linear Refraction series is customized lighting for Hotel 35. Located in Lishui, the capital of photography, Hotel 35 is the first design hotel in China which merged art village and tourism industry and create a new business model type. Artist Ray Teng Pai tried to explore the relationship between time, space, and person under the theme of photography. Linear Refraction series creates a contemporary composition of geometry in the hotel room, and respond to the photography of art.
