Erasmus van Niekerk is one of the two co-founders and the CEO of SEP Solutions, a Finnish technology company founded in 2012. Mr van Niekerk is responsible for the development, design, operation and improvement of the structures that create and deliver the company’s products. He is also in charge of ensuring efficiency in the day-to-day business operations and of managing the design and technical capabilities of the company’s products.

Together with his wife, the company’s other co-founder and current COO Satu Niemelä, Mr van Niekerk is also responsible for leading the development and execution of the company’s strategy and creating shareholder value.

Mr van Niekerk’s academic background is civil engineering, which he studied in his native South Africa, and in business, which he studied in Finland, a place he's called home since in the early 00s.

Prior to co-founding SEP Solutions, Mr van Niekerk gained valuable hands-on experience from leading a mobile application development project that he subsequently sold to a company that continues to use it in their business.

Mr van Niekerk played a crucially important role in the final design of the company’s remote access vide baby monitor Star, awarded Gold in the A’Design Awards 2016 Baby, Kids' and Children's Products category. The design draft was commissioned from Desigence Oy, which Mr van Niekerk worked on to be more “full”, more elongated and more reminiscent of classic Nordic design.

Looking forward to SEP Solutions’ forthcoming market entry, Mr van Niekerk lives in Oulu, Finland together with his wife and their three young children.
