1983 AsiaIt comes from a faith. 1983 ASIA is co-founded by Su SU (Tianjin, China) and YAO (Malaysia) in Shenzhen China. We are very glad that we were guided by K&L. After years of experience of handling projects, we made several brands also achieve ourselves. However, after the joy come again and again, it left us endless thought. We grew up in Asia which was measured by western culture. In this case, the identity of Asian is getting vague. We used to let the treasure of us go, but we have to learn how to reunite the world. The cultural convergence left us regret for globalization and internationalization.“Sometimes, traditional Asian culture is a fetter of western.”We are inspired astonishingly that only tracing to the source can solve the inner contradiction. Based on Asian and designer, we tried to break the bound of concepts and used art design to show our experience and achievement through studying Asian culture.Turning invisible culture into glamorous Asian visual product is the lost-for–long happiness that we reach for in the world.
by by by by by by by by Pagoda Corporate Identity by 1983ASIA Pagoda is a corporate identity created for a Chinese fruit company. The identity is built around two monkey mascots, drawn first as pencil drafts and then developed with digital design software. Monkeys were chosen because they are linked with fruit in Chinese culture, where they also symbolise wisdom and courage. The mascots dance through the four seasons, and the flowers around them change with each mood. The colours refer to flowers, seasons and nature. Printing applies ultraviolet coating and hot stamping. The aim is to present Asian culture with respect for natural life. Yau Sik San Branding Design by 1983ASIA Yau Sik San is a branding design created for a Guangdong cuisine food brand. The identity is built around the God of Cookery, a figure from ancient Chinese belief linked with clothing, food, luck and longevity. Chinese calligraphy is used for the brand name to express the regional character of Guangdong. Traditional color combinations support the visual image. The packaging is produced with specialty paper printing, UV, embroidery, reactive printing and hot stamping. The aim is to present the quality of the food through a cultural story. Menogga Branding Design by 1983ASIA Menogga is a branding design based on the culture of the Zhuang minority in China. Zhuang tradition holds a legend that people are born from flowers, and the goddess Menogga is still honoured today. The brand identity expresses the female spirit, kindness and tolerance found in this legend. Traditional Zhuang fabric images were scanned and redrawn with digital design software to form a modern visual system. The identity is applied to clothing, packaging and umbrellas, using hot stamping, embroidery and flocking. The aim is to share Guangxi culture with a wider audience. |
