Florian W. Mueller

I am an internationally awarded photographer with a love of searching the unusual in the ordinary and a passion for creating pictures that almost demand an interaction with the beholder.
In my work, it is all about the evocation of thoughts, associations, emotions and memories.

Since 2013 Florian W. Mueller is a professional member of the honorable BFF Berufsverband Freie Fotografen und Filmgestalter and works as a photographer and artist homebased in Cologne. In the same year he founded the „jetztzeit Club“ together with Nadine Targiel and Michael Streckbein to exhibit together, to show the unusual and to give eyes and thoughts a moment to pause.
2016 he joined the honorable AOP Association of Photographers in London and was prompt finalist at the great 2016 AOP Awards.

Drive2Extremes Multivision Photography Artwork by Florian W. Mueller Photographer Florian W. Mueller was invited to bring together the two extremes of the northern polar region in Levi, Finland, and the Arabian desert in Liwa, UAE, with the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. He positioned the new, electric Porsche first on ice at -25 degrees Celsius north of the Arctic Circle and then in the same position to the camera and at a similar sun angle in the Arabian desert at +42 degrees Celsius and brought the two images together. Partial multiple exposures were added in the manner of his Multivision artworks.

Multivision Porsche Shanghai Photography Artwork by Florian W. Mueller For Porsche China Florian W. Mueller shot in Shanghai and created some artwork for the Photofairs Shanghai, including iconic sportscars. Shanghai has many different faces. The old, traditional China, the influences of France in the "Former French Concession" and very modern glass and steel architecture. The photographer wanted to capture these different faces of the city in multiple exposures, always with a car in the picture. Because no matter how distorted the environment appears through the multiple exposure, you can always recognize the iconic design of the Porsche.

IKARUS Photography Artwork by Florian W. Mueller These are photographed specimens of birds, most of whose species are extinct. The photographer Florian W. Mueller was inspired by the legend of Icarus: His father Daedalus built wings of feathers and wax for himself and his son to escape from the captivity of Minos on Crete. The son Icarus became overconfident, the wax melted and he fell into the sea. Despite his father's warnings. The parallels: Despite warnings and admonitions, the world spirals into ever higher and warmer and warmer climes, and the crash is not far away.

SAMSA Photography Artwork by Florian W. Mueller These artworks are part of the collection Neglect, photographed specimens of animals, most of which are extinct or critically endangered. The photographer wants to show a little bit of the sometimes bizarre beauty of the insects, so that the viewer might see them with different eyes. Because insect extinction is very real and not a made-up story. The series was produced with help and assistance of the Senckenberg German Entomological Institute.

Jellybelly Artwork by Florian W. Mueller The artworks of the Jellybelly series are offered in two limited editions: 10 pieces of each motiv. Jellyfishes are one of the most fascinating species in the oceans and they have a certain aesthetics the artist wanted to capture. The pictures were shot in a big aquarium where the artist had permission to work and shoot during the night in complete darkness. Only some artificial lights inside the aquarium and from the outside were just to give the jellyfish some subtle glow.
