M. Kirk Train, FAIA is an architect practicing regionally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Train Architects is a small design firm that practices in the Residential, Commercial and Institutional fields of architectural practice. I consider myself and my firm problem solvers. I do not design to a particular style or reference. I work on each project specifically for its client, program and context. The use of rhythm, proportion, balance and scale are used to achieve visual cohesiveness. The overriding notion is architecture dignifies our existence.

I have a Masters of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture at Yale University. After working for a number of internationally recognized firms and teaching I opened an office in Charlottesville, Virginia.
