Quad Studio LimitedQUAD Studio is a group of architects, designers, and thinkers operating within the field of architecture, urbanism, interior, product and
landscape design, research and development. Founded by Wai Tang, Charles Ho and Kelvin Chu in 2017, together they have over 50 years of architectural practice experience, with project footprints across continents. The studio aims to embrace a utopian freedom to help change the way people live in today’s contemporary society. The name QUAD studio stands for Quantum Urban Architectural Design and the studio emerges out of a team of creative individuals that truly believe that a well-designed environment evolves, adapts and changes the way people perceive a particular space, function or a neighborhood. We feel that design is not constraint to a particular style; rather, we explore different cultures, new architectural techniques and languages, using it as a painting pallet to compose a bespoke narrative that encapsulates a seamless conjunction between design and functionality. QUAD Studio believes that making architecture has no geographical boundaries. Based in Hong Kong, our focus is on a highly flexible methodological approach in designing and collaborating with leading specialists in other disciplines to design high profile projects internationally. Medieval Rethink Cultural Center by QUAD studio Medieval Rethink was a response to a private commission to build a Cultural Centre for a small undisclosed village in the Guangdong Province, which dates back 900 years to the Song Dynasty. A four storey, 7000 sqm development is centred around an ancient rock formation known as the Ding Qi Stone, a symbol of the origin of the village. The project’s design concept is based on showcasing the history and culture of the ancient village whilst linking the old and the new. The Cultural Centre stands as a reinterpretation of an ancient village and a transformation into contemporary architecture. Light Portal Future Rail City by QUAD studio Light Portal is masterplan of Yibin Highspeed Rail City. A reform of lifestyle recommends to all age all year round. Next to Yibin High Speed Rail Station which operated since June 2019, Yibin Greenland Centre comprises of 160m tall mixed-use Twin Towers integrate architecture and nature with the 1km long landscape boulevard. Yibin has a history for more than 4000 years, accumulating wisdom and culture just like the sediment in the river marked the development of Yibin. The Twin Towers serve as a light portal to guide visitors as well as a landmark for residents to assemble. Megalopolis X Shenzhen Super Headquarter by QUAD studio Megalopolis X will be the new center in the heart of the greater bay area, close to the border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The master plan integrates architecture with pedestrian networks, parks and public spaces. Above and below ground transportation networks are being planned by maximizing connectivity in the city. A below ground sustainable infrastructure network will provide systems for district cooling and automatic waste treatment in a seamless manner. The aim is to establish a creative master plan framework of how cities will be designed in the future. Chengdu NBD Centre Architecture by QUAD studio Being the first development in this new financial district. To maximise frontage towards the Jinjiang River, the design pushed the twin tower toward the north western corner of the site allowing visual connection to Jiaozi Park. Below ground the design allowed multiple pedestrian connection to the adjacent plots and metro lines. It is divided into 3 distinctive sections, Below Ground, Podium and Main Towers all interconnected by pockets of public realm. A large sunken civic plaza draws visitors to the ground level where multi-level linkages take visitors to retail and cultural attraction. by |
