I am an award-winning photographer, filmmaker and visual artist. My work combines photography, cinematography and documentary storytelling, with a focus on atmosphere, memory, identity and cultural heritage. I would like to join IAD as an independent creative working across still and moving image.

Penumbra Photography by Maja Zińczuk The designer took photos at a time when leaving the house and meeting people was a challenge, i.e. during the pandemic. Staying at home for a long time triggered the author's creativity. Therefore everyday objects found in the house, such as bowls of water, reflective materials, windows in the building were used to model the light. Her works were taken in color first, then changed to black and white. Everything was done digitally. Only one photo she took with artificial light from a lamp and it is a portrait of a boy. Silhouettes are often shown hidden.

Liminalis Photography by Maja Zińczuk This photographic project explores the Biebrza Valley, one of Europe's last vast wetland landscapes. Through images of mist, reflections, and shifting light, the series observes the quiet transformations of the marshes and the fragile rhythms of this ecosystem. Moving between documentary attention and a contemplative visual language, the photographs invite a slower way of looking and encourage deeper sensitivity to subtle environmental change. By focusing on atmosphere, silence, and the passing of time, the project reflects on the delicate balance between nature, memory, and human presence.
