Following the Taoist school of thought, the space is a void until it is filled with physical objects; and every physical object is governed by an inherent metaphysical law of its own. As designers, we believe that every piece of our work bears a spirit, which can only be realised through proper designs with good intentions to solve material problems. In interior design, what we care is to fulfill individual as well as societal needs at large, combining form and function, aesthetics and practice. The rule of thumb for us is not to create any design that is insincere and without substance both for the humanity and the environment. We keep things to the minimal as we are dedicated to designs that bring happiness, not more wastes.
Acknowledging the practical needs of people, we work with spaces to cultivate an enhanced sense of creativity and beauty. Restaurants, shopping malls, toilets, residential houses, cinema houses, offices - the most common public places in life have always been the Muse and playgrounds for RainySky. We bear in mind the human desires from 3 to 80 for comfort and relaxation, carefully crafting interiors that are at once socially responsible, environmentally friendly and economically sustainable. At the heart of our business lies the untapped fountain of creativity, which we also found to be the all-time solution to many seemingly unsolvable conflicts.
Drawing from our own cultural traditions, we also try our best to optimise and incorporate the use of modern technology and materials to keep up with international vibes and trends. We believe that there is conflict between pursuing one’s beliefs and physical pleasures. We resist the idea that one style fits all forever. While we respect Chinese traditions, we also make sure our works are visible and exposed to international audiences. It is our philosophy that every place has its unique attractions; and it is exactly the role of interior designers to reveal these unobserved spatial characteristics. We communicate to grow, as lifestyle and culture change over time, new ways of designing are constantly required. It is an urgent task for us, interior design practitioners, to respond and adapt themselves to new forms of place-making and stay relevant.
For us, design is the seed, and life is the earth. Only by fully embracing and appreciating life can we grow the seeds and gain heaps of fruits. Our design and artistic capabilities are natural expressions of reason and emotions, we care for the social well-being and environmental safety as much as we concern about personal space and a good life. It is not just a job and a skill for us. We firmly believe that a world without designers will be inhumane and stiff. We can bring forth the best part of humanity in spatial terms through design thinking and management to solve problems. All in all, design is the holistic method we adopt to intervene with the world; it gives us agency to change the way things are, but can be otherwise.

InnoSquare Business Centre by Penny Chan The business centre is aesthetically designed with the conceptual pivot of the tree trunk. The tree itself is part of the natural habitat, comparing it to the facility reinforces the objective to build a self-sustained ecosystem of professional talents in the long term. This also sees the use of wood skin wall panels with stainless steel and the minimal use of stone, aiming to create a luxe and sustainable finishing, yet projecting an evergreen appearance.
