In 2007, Jackson Y. K. Chia turned his passion into purpose by founding DESIGN GALLERY, an interior design and consultancy firm based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Though trained in architecture, Jackson discovered his true calling in interior design—where spaces become stories and creativity meets functionality. Guided by a deep love for art and interior architecture, he has spent years refining his craft, driven by a simple yet powerful goal: to design with heart, precision, and imagination. Known for his obsession with quality and his eye for detail, Jackson is committed to creating spaces that not only meet but elevate his clients’ expectations—designs that resonate, inspire, and endure.

Dining on 54 Multifunctional Space by Jackson Y. K. Chia Mount Kinabalu is located in Northern Borneo. The inspiration for the entire design came from the earth-toned colour palette and the material was selected as it is warm and serene. The feature wall uses the natural rock collected from Mount Kinabalu, with the enhancement of lighting illumination from the ceiling, it does clearly shows the texture of the rock. The combination of stone and timber creates a balance of harmony. While the details of the furniture use leather and gold finishing to symbolize luxury and deluxe.

Blue Tandoor Restaurant by Jackson Y. K. Chia The restaurant's ceiling dome design is inspired by India's most famous part of the Taj Mahal with its white dome in the center. Moonlight blue was used to create a dining experience that beautifully blends the timeless elegance of the Taj Mahal with the serene, luxurious ambiance. By incorporating the use of solid wood throughout the restaurant, enhances the aesthetic and functional qualities of the space but also aligns with eco-friendly values. Its unique blend of tradition and modernity creates an immersive, sophisticated environment that enhances the dining experience.

Golden Era Sales Gallery by Jackson Y. K. Chia The design presents a jewelry retail environment that emphasizes clarity, balance, and careful spatial planning. Drawing reference from gallery settings, the layout guides visitors through a calm and structured journey where each jewelry piece is given considered attention. Layered lighting is applied to enhance the natural brilliance of the displays, while selected materials and subtle textures contribute to a warm and inviting atmosphere. The arrangement balances openness with defined display zones to support comfort and security, shaping a composed and approachable shopping experience.
