Martin Oberhauser graduated as a designer from the University of Bolzano, Italy. He continued his studies with a postgraduate degree at the University ECAL - Ecole Cantonale D'Art de Lausanne in Switzerland as scholar of Ronan Bouroullec and at the Designlabor Bremerhaven as a scholarship holder of the state of Bremen tutored by Werner Aisslinger. After graduating, Oberhauser worked with Patrick Jouin in Paris, where he deepened and refined his craft.

studiooberhauser was founded in Bolzano, Italy in 2018. The studio strives for sustainability driven flagship projects, uniting a multidisciplinary team of creative and innovative minds operating in the fields of product design, interior design and art. The main focus lies on the exploration and exploitation of new and innovative production methods with the most recent one being the selective cement activation, a newly developed concrete and cement material 3D printing method. The studio’s focus also lies on the creation of innovative and future oriented models based on a underlying concept of sustainability.

Boulderball Training Tool and Game by Martin Oberhauser The smallest bouldering wall in the world. Boulderball is the first combined training tool and game specifically made for climbers, finger-strength training and climbing technique. Inspired by climbers, the Boulderball packs an ideal climb-training tool and fidgeting game for climbers into a small ball that can be brought along everywhere. Through an innovative assembling system (plug and play) the climbing holds keep the structure together and provide the connection points for the primary structure.

Pocket Ninja Game by Martin Oberhauser Pocket Ninja is a compact game designed for skill and dexterity training. The game measures 70 millimetres and fits in a pocket, so it can be used at home, in the gym or while travelling. Pocket Ninja arrives unassembled, and players build the game from the supplied pieces and the guide, like a three dimensional puzzle. The shaped grips support an exercise called DYNOs, in which the game is thrown and caught with two fingers while the grip is changed. The game is produced in Italy by injection moulding.

Oberhauser's Balloon Outdoor Lightning by Martin Oberhauser Oberhauser's Ballon is an outdoor lamp produced in three sizes, with diameters of 30 cm, 70 cm and 100 cm. The lamp is made of cement using powder bed concrete 3D printing, a method also known as Selective Paste Intrusion. In this process, cement paste is injected into a powder bed, and the form is built layer by layer. No formwork is required, so complex and detailed geometries can be produced. The material is highly weather resistant and therefore suited to outdoor use. Efficient material use limits waste during production.
