An interdisciplinary designer specializing in identity design and object making, Xubai brings a background in graphic design and visual identity to a practice defined by conceptual wonder. By incorporating eclectic themes and materials, she frequently questions and recontextualizes the fundamental uses of ready-made objects, furnitures, and traditional techniques. Her work is driven by a commitment to breaking disciplinary boundaries and challenging accustomed traditions through a rigorous method of concept deconstruction.

Uni Side Table by Xubai Li The Uni integrates inside and outside surfaces to create unconventional forms. Inspired by origami and negative space, Xubai Li designed it by forming a flat aluminum sheet into a three dimensional volume. Scaled from one sixteenth models to full size prototypes, it achieves stability through fold based geometry. Intended for urban environments, the Uni functions as both a table and a freestanding object, providing unobstructed negative space and mobility for modern studio living while maintaining an unobtrusive appearance.
